Your Panelists

Amanda Baird, RHIA

  • Coding Supervisor of SVC Coding, Claim edits, Denials and Education at the University of Rochester.
  • Professional Practice Coordinator for HIT students and has assisted in the development and creation of a completely virtual internship.
  • Works closely with Compliance and aides in educating the HIM Coding team as well as onboarding new providers.
  • Held coding positions in multi-specialty outpatient/ambulatory surgery coding.
  • Was a Coding Integrity Coordinator working with and educating physicians before earning her bachelor’s degree in 2018.

Paula Percas

  • Inpatient and Home Health Care Coding Manager for University of Rochester Medical Center.
  • Paula has worked with the ISD department at the University of Rochester.
  • Prior to her career in HIM, Paula spent most of her working years with seniors, and held numerous management positions. 

Joanna Griggs

  • Coding Manager over the Emergency Department and Outpatient Department coders at the University of Rochester.
  • 20 years of experience in health care related fields such as home health care, assisted living, and developmental disabilities.
  • Prior to her career in HIM, Paula spent most of her working years with seniors, and held numerous management positions. 

Rochelle M. Nichols, RHIT

  • Associate Director of Coding for the University of Rochester Medical Center and affiliates.
  • Extensive experience working in the Health Information Management field.
  • Bachelor's in health systems administration and health information management, an associate degree in medical Record Technology/Health Information Management and a certificate in Health Systems Management.
