Internal Auditing and Developing a Coding Education Program

This presentation will offer and define approaches to performing effective internal medical coding audits. We will then apply the coding audit data to targeted education for coding staff, CDI specialists, and physicians. An effective internal audit process will not only improve internal coding quality and education, but also will improve compliance, reimbursement, and the effects of external audits.
