Mary Pasciak's Bio: Mary Pasciak started college many years ago at Monroe Community College in Henrietta NY. She went there for 2 years, and was a president of the HIT Club for 2 years because she wanted to be part of a club, became president of the HIT club and then graduated from Monroe Community College from the HIT Program. Mary then took the RHIT exam and passed. She worked for many different acute care facilities and then landed a position at Rochester General Hospital, now called Rochester Regional Health System and worked there for 16 years as an Outpatient Coder. Coding Facility ED’s, Oncology accounts, Ambulatory, Interventional Radiology, Infusions and PB coding, Mary started as an RRHIMA board member about 12 years ago in a three-year term as the RRHIMA Board Education Director. It was all done manually, and she had to find a place to set up for the meeting, for the RRHIMA members and the speakers. She worked her way up the Board of Directors, and the second time around became the president of RRHIMA which she is presently doing. Mary is presently very active in AAHIMA, NYHIMA and RRHIMA. She received the mentor award from NYHIMA 3 years ago and am now mentoring a mentee through AHIMA. During her spare time Mary loves to volunteer and give back to the community. She also loves to travel and spend time with her family.
