Diann H. Smith, MS, RHIA, CHP, FAHIMA, is vice president of Health Information Management Services and Clinical Documentation Integrity at Texas Health Resources in Arlington, Texas.  Smith served as the 2018 – 2020 chair of American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Foundation and served as the 2018 president/chair of AHIMA.  Smith has served as chair on the AHIMA Professional Ethics Committee; director on the AHIMA board; president of the Texas Health Information Management Association (TXHIMA) and commissioner on the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).     She is a published author and speaker on a variety of health care-related topics and has served on community non-profit boards.  Smith has received numerous local, state, and national awards recognizing her outstanding leadership and service to the community, HIM profession and mentorship to others.
